139 Hawks earn USA South Academic All-Conference honors

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – More than 130 Huntingdon College student-athletes were recognized with the release of the USA South Academic All-Conference team on Monday. A total of 139 Hawks, representing each of Huntingdon's 18 athletic programs, were among the 1,446 USA South student-athletes named to the team.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Huntingdon men’s lacrosse team’s first appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament ended with a 14-1 loss to Rhodes College on Wednesday.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men’s lacrosse team will face a familiar opponent in its first appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament. The Hawks will travel to Rhodes College to open the tournament on Wednesday. The time will be announced on Monday.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men’s lacrosse team will gather in Drum Theater on Sunday night to watch the NCAA Division III selection show.

USA South Champs: Huntingdon wins first men’s lacrosse title

LAGRANGE, Ga. – The Huntingdon men’s lacrosse team turned in its second dominant performance in two days to win the inaugural USA South Athletic Conference championship on Sunday. The Hawks defeated Methodist University 12-4 to complete the championship run.

LAGRANGE, Ga. – The Huntingdon men’s lacrosse team will play for the inaugural USA South Athletic Conference Tournament men’s lacrosse championship on Sunday. The top-seeded Hawks rolled past Greensboro College 12-5 in the conference semifinals on Saturday. Huntingdon will play Methodist for the conference title on Sunday at 3 p.m. (Eastern).

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.  – Two Huntingdon Hawks earned individual honors and a total of five players earned All-Conference recognition with the release of the inaugural USA South Athletic Conference men’s lacrosse awards on Wednesday. Huntingdon junior Sam Hitt was named the USA South’s first Player of the Year and Andrew Carey took home the first Coach of the Year honor for men’s lacrosse. Hitt was also named first-team All-Conference as a faceoff specialist. He is joined on the first team by Huntingdon midfielders Kendrick Ballard and Adrian Harper. Bryce Coates earned second-team recognition at the attack position and Matt Murphy was a second-team selection at goalie.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Two Huntingdon student-athletes were named USA South Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week on Monday. Sam Hitt was recognized as the Defensive Player of the Week for men's lacrosse and Bryce Coates was chosen as the Rookie of the Week for men's lacrosse. This is the fourth time each player has been recognized this season.

DANVILLE, Va. – The Huntingdon men’s lacrosse team downed Averett 16-2 on Saturday to finish unbeaten in regular-season conference play. In their first season competing in the USA South Athletic Conference, the Hawks (14-2, 6-0 USA South) claimed the conference’s first men’s lacrosse regular-season title. This is the first season the USA South has sponsored men’s lacrosse.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men’s lacrosse team scored eight goals in the second half and knocked off Division II Shorter University 13-3 on Wednesday night.

Kendrick Ballard scored three goals, including the game-winning goal with 41 seconds left, in a 7-6 win over Methodist.

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Huntingdon men’s lacrosse team rolled past Randolph College 15-9 on Wednesday night and set a new program record for wins in a season. With their 11th win this season, the Hawks (11-2) broke the previous record of 10 wins set by the 2014 and 2017 teams.
