Huntingdon stumbles against Birmingham-Southern

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's lacrosse team lost to Birmingham-Southern 9-5 on Wednesday night.

The loss was the first of the season for the Hawks and snapped a program-record six-game winning streak.

The Hawks matched the Panthers early, but fell behind by three goals in the second quarter and trailed 7-3 at the end of three quarters. Birmingham-Southern built a five-goal lead early in the fourth quarter.

Kendrick Ballard led Huntingdon with two goals and an assist. Austen Saucier had two goals and Miles Stading added one goal. Sam Hitt was 9-for-18 on faceoffs and had a team-high four ground balls. Mac Puller and Raymond Edwards each had three ground balls.

Goalie Matt Murphy finished the game with 14 saves and nine goals allowed.
