Huntingdon men’s soccer falls at Louisiana College

PINEVILLE, La. – The Huntingdon men's soccer team gave up three goals in the first half and fell to Louisiana College 4-2 on Monday.

The Wildcats scored once in the first 10 minutes and added two more goals in the final 12 minutes of the first half. Louisiana College went up 4-0 in the first four minutes of the second half.

"We really showed our youth today, giving up three goals in the first half," Huntingdon soccer coach Timmy McCormack said. "But, we also battled back to keep ourselves in it. It was a good experience for our younger guys and something we will continue to build on."

Rhett Williams scored the first goal for Huntingdon (1-1) midway through the second half. A Louisiana College own goal made it 4-2 late in the game.

Turner Adcock took two shots on goal for the Hawks and Williams, Robbie Farquhar and Tyler Theriault each took one shot on goal. Huntingdon keeper Matt Russell gave up four goals and had eight saves.

The Hawks return to action on Sunday at Millsaps.
