Huntingdon men’s soccer drops home match with Talladega

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's soccer team frustrated Talladega College's offense for a half on Wednesday. But the NAIA Tornadoes scored four second-half goals and took a 5-1 win.

Despite taking 21 shots in the first half, Talladega (6-3) only led 1-0 at the half. But three goals in the first 12 minutes of the second half allowed the Tornadoes to take control.

Austin Savage scored Huntingdon's goal in the 76th minute on an assist from Brennan Van Meter. Savage took two shots for the Hawks (2-4). Rhett Williams, Stacy Terry, Turner Adcock and Josh Soukup each took one shot for Huntingdon.

Dominique Thomas started in goal, surrendering four goals and recording 10 saves in a little more than 56 minutes. All 10 saves came in the first half. Alex Brown played the final 33:45 in goal, recording two saves and allowing one goal.

Huntingdon returns to action on Saturday, hosting Rhodes at 1 p.m.
