Huntingdon falls short to conference rival Averett

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's soccer team battled Averett University in a physical match on Saturday, but lost 1-0. In the Hawk's 10 games this season, eight have been decided by a goal or less.

Saturday was also Senior Day as Huntingdon recognized its five seniors (Alex Brown, Zach Dedman, Nick Stinson, Dominique Thomas and Miguel Vidal) before the game.

Brown finished the game with seven saves and allowed one goal in the 18th minute.

Huntingdon (2-7-1, 1-3 USA South) was outshot 19-8 by Averett (3-8, 2-2 USA South). The Hawks were able to place only two shots on goal while the Cougars placed eight shots on goal.

Miguel Medina led Huntingdon with three shots and one shot on goal.

Tyler DeJianne had one shot and one shot on goal. Andres Quintero, Dedman, Killian Delmore and Mac Puller all took one shot.

The Hawks host USA South opponent Greensboro College on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Samford Stadium.
