Hawks can’t keep pace with Greensboro

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's soccer team faced Greensboro College in a USA South Athletic Conference matchup and lost 6-1 on Sunday.

Greensboro (6-4-1, 3-0-1 USA South) scored four goals in the first 11 minutes of the game to take a comfortable 4-0 lead.

Brendon Van Emelen scored his second goal of the season in the 17th minute as he was able to sneak the ball around the Pride's goalie.

Van Emelen had one shot and the only shot on goal for Huntingdon (2-8-1, 1-5-1 USA South).

Greensboro scored two more times in the second half to round out the scoring.  

Cam Smith, Dylan Wier and Miguel Medina each had two shots.

Alex Brown finished with six saves and allowed six goals in a little less than 70 minutes of play. Dominique Thomas played the final 20 minutes for the Hawks and recorded one save.

Huntingdon hosts Covenant College on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Huntingdon soccer field.
