MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's soccer team battled Berea to a 2-2 draw in double overtime on Sunday.

Berea, which is currently a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association, is set to join the USA South Athletic Conference for the 2017-18 season.

The Hawks (1-1-1) opened Sunday's physical match with a Bo Jenkins goal in the sixth minute of play. The Mountaineers answered back in just over a minute and tied the game 1-1.

Huntingdon opened the second-half with five shots before play was suspended for lightning. After a 40 minute delay, play resumed.

A Huntingdon foul inside its own box gave Berea a penalty kick and a chance to tie the game in the 64th minute. Garrison Wagner converted the kick and tied the game 2-2. Both teams were held scoreless for the remainder of regulation play.

After the end of regulation, Huntingdon took two shots while Berea was held to zero shots in both overtimes. Dakota Gruzdas recorded three saves and allowed two goals while playing the complete game in net. Killian Delmore fired off five shots and had two shots on goal.
