Hawks fall to Pensacola Christian

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's soccer team lost 4-1 to Pensacola Christian on Tuesday night.

The Eagles (3-2) started off fast by scoring the game's first goal in the ninth minute. The Hawks' offense came alive after the goal, taking eight shots, but was unable to find the back the net. After holding strong on defense, the Eagles scored their second goal in the 44th minute, to take a 2-0 lead into halftime.

Pensacola Christian finished the game with 16 shots while the Hawks took 15 shots.

The Eagles scored two goals in just over 21 minutes to start to the second half to pull ahead 4-0.

After a Pensacola foul in the 87th minute, Killian Delmore scored off a free kick to end the Eagles' bid for a shutout. Delmore finished with two shots and one goal.

Brendon Van Emelen led the Hawks with four shots while Mac Puller and Karter Porter each had three shots.

Dakota Gruzdas recorded three saves and allowed four goals while playing the full game in net.

The Hawks (1-2-1) travel to LaGrange College on Saturday to open their USA South Athletic Conference schedule at 1 p.m.
