Hawks lose at Covenant

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. – The Huntingdon men's soccer team lost 6-1 at Covenant on Friday in a USA South Athletic Conference matchup.

Covenant (2-8-2, 2-4-0 USA South) scored the game's first goal in the sixth minute to take an early 1-0 lead. The Scots added two more goals in the first-half before Mac Puller put Huntingdon (2-8-1, 1-5-0 USA South) on the board before halftime.

Covenant added three more goals in the second-half to pull ahead 6-1. The Scots took 18 shots while the Hawks took seven.

Puller led Huntingdon with four shots, two shots on goal and one goal. Cam Smith, Austin Stacey and Conner Howard each had one shot.

Eathan Small started the game in goal and had four saves and allowed six goals in just over 75 minutes of play. Freshman Dakota Gruzdas finished the game for the Hawks and recorded one save.

Huntingdon hosts Point University on Tuesday night at Samford Stadium for 7 p.m. out-of-conference matchup.
