Huntingdon men’s tennis improves to 2-0 in conference

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's tennis team remained perfect in conference play with a 9-0 win over Maryville College on Saturday.

It was the second 9-0 win in two conference matches for the Hawks (5-2, 2-0 USA South).

Huntingdon only lost three games in the 15 sets played on Saturday. The No. 1 doubles team of Bobby Foroughian and Zac Baldwin remained unbeaten with an 8-0 win. Sebastian Riveros Florez and Meyer Schwartzberg won 8-0 at No. 2 doubles and Tyler Chaffee and Trey Pirtle won 8-1 at No. 3 doubles.

In singles, Foroughian (No. 1), Florez (No. 2), Tyler Creamer (No. 5) and Justin McQueen (No. 6) each won 6-0, 6-0. Baldwin (No. 3) and Schwartzberg (No. 4) both won 6-0, 6-1.

Huntingdon travels to LaGrange on Tuesday for a 3 p.m. conference match.
