Huntingdon defeats Division II Tuskegee University

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's tennis team earned its first victory of the season on Friday, defeating Tuskegee 8-1.

The Hawks improved to 1-3 on the season with the win. Huntingdon hosts Rust and Berry on Saturday. Saturday's match against Rust will begin at 10 a.m. with Berry following after.

Huntingdon began Friday's match with a pair of doubles win. The No. 1 team of Justin McQueen and Adam Self won 8-5 while the No. 2 team of Ben Marler and Bailey Burns took an 8-4 victory.

The No. 3 team of Mark Melchor and Ethan Fuller won by default to give Huntingdon a 3-0 lead.

In singles, Huntingdon won three of the four matches played. McQueen won at No. 1 singles 8-6 while Self won 8-2 in the No. 2 spot. Melchor cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5.

Marler won by injury default at No. 4 and Burns won by default at No. 6.
