Hawks fall to Piedmont but advance to conference tournament

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's tennis team fell to Piedmont 6-3 on Saturday but qualified for the USA South Athletic Conference tournament.
Huntingdon (7-13) ended the regular season with a 3-5 conference record to tie for third with LaGrange in the West Division standings. The Hawks won the tiebreaker over the Panthers.
Huntingdon will open play in the conference tournament on Thursday in LaGrange, Ga.
The Hawks fell behind 2-1 after doubles play to start the afternoon. The No. 1 team of John Jones and Bailey Burns took a 9-7 win to give Huntingdon a point.
In singles, Justin McQueen (No. 2) won 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 while Ben Marler (No. 5) won 2-6, 6-0, 1-0.
