Hawks Narrowly Defeated By Maryville
MARYVILLE, Tenn.- Returning to CCS play after a single-match hiatus against Johnson University, Huntingdon Men's Tennis brought a close to their Spring break road trip against Maryville College.
After dropping the doubles point, the Hawks fought valiantly through the singles matches, but ultimately were defeated by the Scots 4-3. See below for the full results of the match.
Doubles
- Lane Young and Tyler Garcia were defeated by James Smith and Luke Romano 6-4
- William Massey and Zach Cox were defeated by Jackson Mayer and Field Myatt 6-0
- Sage Speer and Owen Wheelock were defeated by Jonathan Crane and Eli Cauthern 6-1
Singles
- Lane Young was defeated by James Smith 6-0 in each set
- Tyler Garcia was defeated by Field Myatt 6-4 and 6-3
- William Massey defeated Luke Romano in three sets, losing the first 6-2 before winning the next two by a score of 6-4 in each set.
- Zach Cox defeated Pedro Cunha 6-4 and 6-3
- Jackson Mayer defeated Lawson Pearson 7-5 and 6-0
- Sage Speer defeated Eli Cauthern 6-2 and 6-3
The Hawks look to bounce back at home on April 4th, hosting the Covenant Scots. Matches are set for 2:00 PM CT.
