Huntingdon men’s cross country wraps up regular season competition

ROME, Ga.  – The Huntingdon men's cross country traveled to the Berry College Southeast Classic for a final tuneup before the Great South Athletic Conference championship meet.

Jeff Jenkins led the Hawks with a time of 27:38.27 and placed 94th in the meet that featured more than 300 runners. Embry Riddle's Evans Kirwa won the meet with a time of 24:17.89.

Bryan College won the team competition with a score of 65. Huntingdon was 26th at 767.

Behind Jenkins, Alex Taylor turned in a time of 28:41.24 and Patrick Cross had a time of 29:41.31. Ian Layne was next with a time of 31:05.30, followed by McDowell Pinckard at 31:17.46, Drayton Rodgers at 33:54.96 and Alex Dunkel at 34:29.88.

Both the Huntingdon men's and women's teams return to action on Oct. 29 in the GSAC championship meet in Lookout Mountain, Ga.
