Huntingdon softball picks up first win of the season
MARION, Ala. – The Huntingdon softball team picked up its first win of the season with a 3-1 victory over Judson on Monday.
The Lady Hawks led 8-7 in the fourth inning of Game 2 when rain forced the game to be called. It was unclear Monday night if the game will be completed at a later date.
Brooke Meadows (1-1) struck out 10 and picked up the win in Game 1. She was also 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Holly Ostrander was 2-for-2 and Daisha Henderson had two RBIs.
Gabby Alcantar scored Huntingdon's first run on a Lauren Welch sacrifice in the first inning. In the second inning, Halleigh DiNicholas scored on a sacrifice bunt by Henderson. In the fourth inning, Meadows scored on a Henderson single.
Huntingdon (1-2) plays its first home doubleheader of the season on Monday against Talladega. Game 1 is set for 1 p.m.
