119 Hawks earn USA South Academic All-Conference honors

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – A total of 119 Huntingdon College student-athletes were recognized with the release of the USA South Academic All-Conference team on Friday. The student-athletes, representing each of Huntingdon's 18 athletic programs, were among the 1,441 USA South student-athletes named to the team.

Singleterry set to play in American Softball Association

SATSUMA, Ala. – Former Huntingdon shortstop Alyssa Singleterry is continuing her softball career this summer in the American Softball Association. The second-year professional softball league’s season begins on Friday and is scheduled to run through the end of July.

Softball knocks off Meredith but ends season against Averett in USA South Tournament

LAGRANGE, Ga. – The Huntingdon softball team won its first elimination game on Saturday but lost to Averett in the bottom of the seventh inning to end its run in the USA South Tournament. The Lady Hawks opened the day with a 9-1 win over Meredith in five innings before suffering a 3-2 loss to the Cougars.
Lady Hawks fall to Averett in 10 innings in USA South Tournament

LAGRANGE, Ga. – The Huntingdon softball team took Averett University to 10 innings on Friday but fell 6-4 in the USA South Conference Tournament. The loss dropped Huntingdon into the elimination bracket. The Lady Hawks (30-14) will play Meredith (14-23) in an elimination game on Saturday at 9 a.m. (Central) at the Shuford Softball Complex.
Huntingdon eliminates LaGrange in Rd. 1 of USA South Tournament

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon softball team kept its season going with a 6-3 win over LaGrange on Saturday in the first round of the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament. The win capped a best-of-three first-round series that began on Friday. Huntingdon won the first game 5-4 on Friday and LaGrange won the second game 5-3 to force Game 3.
Lady Hawks split in USA South first-round series

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon softball team split with LaGrange in the first round of the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament on Friday. The Lady Hawks won the first game 5-4 but lost the second game 5-3. The two teams will play a deciding Game 3 on Saturday at 2 p.m. The winner will advance to the double elimination portion of the conference tournament in LaGrange, Ga.
Six Hawks recognized with release of USA South Softball Awards

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Six Huntingdon softball players were recognized with the release of the USA South All-Conference awards on Thursday. Freshman Annie Nolan and junior Madison Hunt were named first-team All-Conference and first-team West Division. Seniors Alyssa Singleterry and Rayne Ellis and sophomores Lauren Melton and Madison Perryman were each named second-team West Division. Senior Ashley Carroll was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
Melton named USA South Softball Pitcher of the Week

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Huntingdon softball player Lauren Melton was chosen as one of the USA South Athletes of the Week on Monday. The sophomore was named the Pitcher of the Week. This is the first time this season the Wadley, Ala., native has earned the recognition and the third time a Huntingdon pitcher has been recognized this spring.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon softball team earned two wins against Agnes Scott in a conference doubleheader on Wednesday. The Lady Hawks won the first game 3-2 and completed the sweep with a 3-1 win in Game 2.
Huntingdon earns fourth conference sweep of the season

BREVARD, N.C. – The Huntingdon softball team won a pair of conference games on Sunday to earn its fourth conference sweep of the season. The Lady Hawks beat Brevard 7-1 in Game 1 and capped the day with a 1-0 win in eight innings.
