Huntingdon ranked 3rd in USA South West Division preseason poll

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Huntingdon softball team is ranked third in the USA South Athletic Conference West Division poll.

Huntingdon totaled 51 points in the poll.

Maryville, the two-time defending conference tournament champion, and Piedmont are tied for first in the West Division with 60 points. Maryville received four first-place votes and Piedmont picked up five first-place votes.

Behind Huntingdon, LaGrange is fourth (39 points), Covenant is fifth (30 points), Wesleyan is sixth (28 points), Brevard is seventh (27 points), Agnes Scott is eighth (16 points) and Berea is ninth (13 points).

Pfeiffer leads the East Division poll with five first-place votes and 59 points. Averett is second with three first-place votes and 56 points and 2019 East Division champion North Carolina Wesleyan is third with one first-place vote and 54 points.

Huntingdon opens the season at home on Feb. 15 against Rhodes and Louisiana College.
