Huntingdon women come alive late for GSAC win on the road

MACON, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team fell behind early Tuesday night but rallied for a 69-55 win over Wesleyan.

The Lady Hawks (11-7, 6-3 Great South Athletic Conference) trailed 33-26 at halftime before taking the lead midway through the second half and pulling away late.

Trailing 37-30 early in the second half, Huntingdon went on a 17-8 run. Back-to-back 3-pointers midway through the second half helped the Lady Hawks take the lead for good.

A Chelsea Graham 3 pulled Huntingdon within a point with 11:22 to play. A Jessi Andrews 3 gave Huntingdon a 47-45 lead with 10:23 left.

Following Andrews' 3, Wesleyan tied the game twice but never regained the lead.

Huntingdon closed the game with a 20-8 run.

Graham led Huntingdon with four 3-pointers and 14 points. Sekal Ousley scored 10 points and Andrews and Raven Prater each followed with nine points. Morgan Crawford finished with team-highs in rebounds (eight), assists (six) and steals (five).

Lindsay Haggerty led Wesleyan (4-10, 2-9) with 19 points. Bre Solmone and Nivea Lewis each added 12 points.

Huntingdon returns to action on Wednesday at Roland Arena. The Lady Hawks host Agnes Scott at 6 p.m.
