Lady Hawks knock off Oglethorpe for third win in four games

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team had its hands full in the first half against Oglethorpe on Saturday. But the second half was a different story.

The Lady Hawks blew open a close game and downed Oglethorpe 73-54. Huntingdon held the Lady Petrels to 19 points in the second half.

"We talked about that at halftime. They seemed to be able to score at will in the first half and we knew we had to focus on playing better defense in the second half," Huntingdon head coach Buzz Phillips said. "Overall, it was a good team win. Now we have to get ready to go to Millsaps on Wednesday before going to Kentucky for the Pat Deacon Classic.

"We've got some tough games ahead, but if we keep playing hard and stay together, we're going to be a stronger team when conference play starts in January."

Huntingdon plays at Millsaps on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
