Lady Hawks down Covenant on Senior Day

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team took the lead in the first half Saturday and put the game away in the second half for a 76-62 win over Covenant on Senior Day.

The Lady Hawks (13-9, 6-2 Great South Athletic Conference) pulled away in the final 10 minutes of the game, turning a four-point lead into a 17-point lead with a 21-8 run. Senior Devin Douglas scored six points during the run.

Douglas finished the game with 15 points, four rebounds and three steals. Sophomore Patricia Pickens added 13 points and six rebounds and junior Raven Prater finished with 11 points and three steals.

Senior Morgan Crawford totaled nine points and eight assists. Crawford has 38 assists in her last five games. This was fourth time in five games and the eighth time this season she has recorded at least eight assists in a game.

Junior Jodie Thomas added nine points and eight rebounds and sophomore Tanjanik Munford pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.

Huntingdon travels to Spelman on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. game.
