Women’s basketball downs Pensacola Christian

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team took control early and picked up a 58-47 win over Pensacola Christian on Tuesday.

The Lady Hawks took a 12-point lead into halftime and led by as many as 25 points in the second half. Huntingdon (5-4) began subbing in the first half and was able to play all 18 players in the game.

Starters Savannah Ward and Pat Pickens were the only Huntingdon players to score in double figures. Ward made three 3-pointers and finished with 11 points and three steals in 20 minutes and Pickens had 11 points, nine rebounds and four steals in 23 minutes.

Mackenzie Garmany hit three 3s and finished with nine points in 16 minutes. Freshman Courtlynne Parnell finished with a season-high eight rebounds.

Huntingdon returns to conference play on Saturday at noon at Mary Baldwin.
