Huntingdon women pick up first conference win

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team rallied from a halftime deficit and picked up its first conference win of the season with a 75-47 win over Mary Baldwin on Saturday.

Trailing 27-26 at halftime, Huntingdon (6-7, 1-5 USA South) took control in the third quarter and put the game away in the fourth quarter. Huntingdon outscored the Fighting Squirrels (0-14, 0-6 USA South) 20-11 in the third quarter and 29-9 in the fourth quarter.

Junior Jenna Dorman led the Lady Hawks with a double-double of 18 points and a season-high 10 rebounds and sophomore Deven Still added 15 points and eight rebounds. Senior Savannah Ward scored 12 points and junior Jello Weatherspoon had 10 points and five rebounds.

Sophomore Juliette Harp pulled down a team-high 13 rebounds to go with eight points and four blocked shots and junior Mackenzie Garmany finished with seven assists, six points, five rebounds and three steals.

Huntingdon returns to conference action at home on Sunday, hosting Meredith College at 1 p.m.
