Huntingdon falls behind late against Meredith

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team came up short against conference opponent Meredith College, losing 71-59 on Sunday.

The Lady Hawks (6-8, 1-6 USA South) battled Meredith (5-10, 3-4 USA South) closely throughout the first three quarters and trailed by three points, 52-49, going into the fourth quarter.

The Avenging Angels started the fourth with an 11-0 run to go up by 14 with 5:45 remaining. Huntingdon pulled within seven points with 3:55 remaining but was unable to stop Meredith's offense.

Jenna Dorman led the Lady Hawks with 15 points and added six rebounds and four assists. Savannah Ward added 11 points and six assists while Mackenzie Garmany scored 12 points.

Juliette Harp recorded 15 rebounds and four blocks. Harp currently leads the USA South Athletic Conference with 12.4 rebounds per game and 34 blocks.

Huntingdon travels to play Methodist on Saturday at 1 p.m.
