Harp breaks single-season blocks record in win over Peace

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team put William Peace away early in a 67-49 win on Saturday.

The Lady Hawks (8-9, 3-7 USA South) built a double-digit lead midway through the second quarter and continued to pull away in the second half, leading by at least 14 points for the final 17 minutes of the game.

Sophomore Juliette Harp led Huntingdon with a career-high 21 points and completed her 12th double-double of the season with 10 rebounds. With four blocked shots, Harp pushed her season total to 46 blocks in 17 games, breaking the Lady Hawks' NCAA-era record for blocks in a season. Dusti Doss held the previous record of 45.

Junior Jenna Dorman also recorded a double-double with 10 points and a season-high 11 rebounds. Juniors Mackenzie Garmany and Jello Weatherspoon each finished with 14 points. Garmany also had five rebounds and six assists.

Huntingdon returns to action on Sunday at home against North Carolina Wesleyan at 1 p.m.
