Lady Hawks stumble against Berry

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season on Tuesday night after falling to Berry 55-39.

The Lady Hawks fall to 4-1 on the season while Berry improves to 5-5.

The Vikings took an early 5-4 lead in the first three minutes of the game and held the lead for the remainder of half. Huntingdon trailed 23-21 at halftime.

The Lady Hawks tied the game 23-23 in the opening minute of the second-half and went into the fourth quarter trailing by five. The Vikings would go on to outscore Huntingdon 18-7 in the final quarter to take the win.

Senior Jello Weatherspoon led Huntingdon with 13 points and added two assists and two steals. Fellow senior Jenna Dorman recorded seven points and led the team with nine rebounds and three steals.

The Lady Hawks travel to Atlanta on Saturday to face Centre in the Holiday Inn Express and Suites Classic.
