Harp comes close to triple-double in win over Centre

ATLANTA – Junior Juliette Harp recorded her third double-double of the season and just missed a triple-double as the Huntingdon women's basketball team opened the Holiday Inn Express and Suites Classic on Saturday.

Harp scored 13 points, pulled down a career-high 19 rebounds and set the Lady Hawks' NCAA-era record with eight blocked shots in a 63-55 win over Centre College.

The 19 rebounds were one short of the Lady Hawks' NCAA-era record. Harp's eight blocks pushed her career total to 96 blocks in 45 games.

Huntingdon took the lead in the third minute of the game and never trailed. The Lady Hawks carried a 32-24 lead into halftime, led by as many as 12 points in the third quarter and pushed their lead to as much as 15 points twice in the fourth quarter.

Huntingdon will close out the Holiday Inn Express and Suites Classic on Sunday against Oglethorpe. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m.
