Huntingdon cruises to 10th win of the season

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team defeated Wesleyan College 76-46 on Sunday.

The Lady Hawks improved to 10-2 on the season and 3-0 in USA South Athletic Conference play. The 10 wins in 12 games marks the best start for Huntingdon in the NCAA-era.

Huntingdon took its final lead of the game with 7:10 remaining in the first quarter off a Juliette Harp layup. Harp would go on to finish with a game-high 18 points, nine rebounds and four blocks.

Huntingdon led 25-10 after the first quarter and took a 35-15 lead into halftime. Wesleyan (1-9, 0-2 USA South) nearly matched the Lady Hawks in the third quarter, but Huntingdon used a 23-point fourth quarter to take the win.  

The Lady Hawks had 13 players score in the win. Jello Weatherspoon finished with 12 points and six rebounds while T.I. Duncan added seven points, three rebounds, and six assists.

Huntingdon hosts conference rival Maryville on Friday for a 6 p.m. matchup.
