Huntingdon’s Harp named first-team All-Conference

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Huntingdon junior Juliette Harp was recognized by the USA South Athletic Conference on Thursday with the release of the All-Conference women's basketball team.
Harp was named first-team West Division as well as being named first-team All-Conference.
A native of Chattanooga, Tenn., Harp is averaging a double-double this season with 15.1 points per game and 11.6 rebounds per game. She ranks first in the USA South in rebounds per game and fifth in points per game.
Harp had five games with 20 or more points and finished the regular season with eight straight games with 16 or more points. Harp came close to a triple-double early in the season against Centre where she scored 13 points, grabbed a career-high 19 rebounds and had eight blocks.
Her 68 blocks set a new Huntingdon NCAA-era single-season record, which she set last season with 59.
Huntingdon plays Salem on Saturday at 3 p.m. in the first-round of the conference tournament. The game will be held at Piedmont College and adult general admission is $8.00 while institutional faculty/staff/students along with senior citizens (65 years and older) and children are $3.00. Children under the age of six are free.
Senior Mackenzie Garmany was named to the women's All-Sportsmanship team.
Ferrum's Zarkia Mattox was named Player of the Year and Agnes Scott's Garis Grant was named Rookie of the Year. Ferrum's Bryan Harvey was named Coach of the Year.
