MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team fought back from an early deficit and carried a lead into the fourth quarter but fell to Piedmont 64-62 on Saturday.
Huntingdon, which trailed by 11 points in the first half, rallied and took the lead in the third quarter. Huntingdon carried a 44-40 lead into the fourth quarter and led 50-42 with 7:15 to play in the game.
But the lead disappeared in the final seven minutes. Piedmont took the lead for good with 1:26 to play and held off the Lady Hawks.
Junior T.I. Duncan and senior Juliette Harp both recorded double-doubles to lead Huntingdon. Duncan tied the Lady Hawks' NCAA-era record for assists in a game and just missed a triple-double with 15 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds.
Harp turned in her 10th straight double-double with 18 points and 16 rebounds to go with four blocked shots. Harp leads Division III with 17 double-doubles in 18 games this season.

Quick Facts: Duncan's 10 assists marked just the second time a Lady Hawk has reached double-digit assists during the NCAA era. Morgan Crawford was the first with 10 assists against Muskingum in Dec. 2012. Duncan's previous career-high was eight assists against Belhaven and Salem last season. Her 65 assists this season rank fifth in the USA South Athletic Conference.
