Lady Hawks lose at USA South West Division leader Berea

BEREA, Ky. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team used a big second-half run but could not overcome a slow start in Saturday's 81-67 loss at USA South West Division leader Berea.

The Lady Hawks fell behind in the first quarter and trailed 50-32 at halftime. Berea took its largest lead of the game, 63-34, midway through the third quarter before Huntingdon made a late push.

Using a 31-11 run, Huntingdon chipped away at Berea's lead and pulled within nine points in the final four minutes. A 3-pointer by Alex Lowery made it 74-65 with 3:14 to play.

But Berea answered and closed out the game.

Senior Juliette Harp led Huntingdon with 23 points and 11 rebounds to record her 12th straight double-double. Harp leads Division III with 19 double-doubles in 20 games this season.

T.I. Duncan added 14 points and six rebounds and Lowery had 13 points, three assists and three steals. Mia Hudson finished with six rebounds.

Quick Facts: With a 5-5 record in the USA South, Huntingdon is fourth in the West Division. Berea leads the West Division with a 7-1 record, has the second most wins overall (15) of any team in the conference and is riding an 11-game winning streak.
