Huntingdon holds off Bob Jones to close out LaGrange Classic

LAGRANGE, Ga. – T.I. Duncan scored a career-high 23 points and Abiba Bernard sank three free throws in the final 15 seconds to help the Huntingdon women's basketball team beat Bob Jones University 71-64 on Saturday in the LaGrange College Classic.

Huntingdon (4-1) never trailed in the game and led by as many as 17 points in the third quarter, but had to hold off a late push by the Bruins. Bob Jones, which made 10-of-15 from 3-point range for the game, was 7-for-8 from 3-point range in the second half.

Sparked by its 3-point shooting, Bob Jones cut into Huntingdon's lead and pulled within four points, 68-64, with 16 seconds to play in the game.

Bernard made 1-of-2 free throws with 15 seconds to play and added two final free throws with six seconds left to seal the victory.

After scoring her previous career-high of 21 points on Friday, Duncan's 23 points on Saturday led all scorers. The senior also had six rebounds, four assists and four steals. Mia Hudson added 11 points and a team-high eight rebounds and Shaonica Thomas finished with eight points.
