21 Huntingdon players see action in conference victory

MONTGOMERY, Ala.  – The Huntingdon women's basketball team earned its ninth conference win of the season with a 95-37 victory over Wesleyan College on Tuesday night.

A total of 16 different Hawks scored and 21 Huntingdon players saw action in the game. Huntingdon's bench accounted for 56 points in the game.

Huntingdon built an 11-point lead in the first quarter before pulling away for good. The Hawks outscored Wesleyan 27-4 in the second quarter and 23-7 in the third quarter.

With only three players seeing more than 15 minutes of playing time, 10 Hawks scored between five and 11 points. Ry Whetstone led all scorers with 11 points, a team-high eight rebounds and three assists in 16 minutes. Kelcie Smith added 10 points and three steals in 16 minutes.

Wyatt Bak had nine points in 17 minutes, Alina Shoemake had eight points, a season-high eight assists and three steals in 14 minutes and Shaonica Thomas pulled down seven rebounds.
