Cahoon tied for 2nd, Lady Hawks in 6th at Jekyll Island

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – Huntingdon sophomore LeeAnn Cahoon tied for the best round on Saturday and is tied for second entering the final day of the Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate.

Cahoon and Rhodes College's Meg Healy each shot a 3-over-par 75 in the second round. After 36 holes, Cahoon is one stroke off the lead at 155. Berry College's Sydney Weaver leads the field at 154. Rhodes's Mackenzie Cohen is also tied for second at 155.

As a team, Huntingdon is tied for sixth at 657. The Lady Hawks shot 329 on Friday and were tied for second after the first round. Huntingdon shot 328 on Saturday. Rhodes leads the tournament at 637 and New York University is second at 645.

"We're struggling a little with our mental game right now," Huntingdon Director of Golf Dave Schreyer said. "We had a 10-shot lead on Rhodes midway through today's round. But we had a disastrous back-nine and fell to sixth place. I'm looking for us to finish strong on Sunday. We worked on some things after today's round and we're hoping for a better result in the final round."

Behind Cahoon, freshman Kelsey Spivey shot 166 in the first two rounds, sophomore Savannah Humber shot 169, sophomore Courtney Harville shot 170 and freshman Lindsey Huff shot 171.
