Huntingdon women’s golf finishes 5th in Washington University Invitational

MADISON, Ill. – The Huntingdon women's golf team shot 326 on Sunday in the final round of the Washington University Invitational at Gateway Golf Links.

The Lady Hawks finished fifth with a two-round total of 645. William Woods University won the tournament with a 605. Wittenberg University and Washington University-St. Louis tied for second at 630 and Carthage College was fourth at 640.

Huntingdon sophomore LeeAnn Cahoon tied for third and finished four strokes out of first with a 36-hole total of 150. Cahoon, who shot a 1-over-par 73 on Saturday and a 77 on Sunday, has finished in the top three in four of the Lady Hawks' last five events.

William Woods' Katie Warren was the medalist at 146. Wittenberg's Jane Hopkinson-Wood was second at 149.

Huntingdon sophomore Savannah Humber shot 163 for the tournament and freshman Kelsey Spivey shot 79 on Sunday and 165 for the tournament. Sophomore Courtney Harville shot 167 in the two rounds and freshman Lindsey Huff shot 177.

Huntingdon will play in the Methodist Women's Spring Invitational on April 11-12.
