Cahoon’s 74 leads Huntingdon women in Rd. 1 at Jekyll Island

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's golf team shot 320 on Friday in the opening round of the Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate Invitational.

The 13th-ranked Lady Hawks are ninth in the 23-team field entering Saturday's second round. Whitman College leads the field at 299, Sewanee is second at 301 and Bridgewater College is third at 308.

Junior LeeAnn Cahoon shot a 2-over-par 74 to lead Huntingdon. Cahoon is three strokes off the lead and tied for seventh. Sewanee's Emily Javadi turned in Friday's best round with a 1-under 71.

Behind Cahoon, freshman Hallie Rice shot a 79 and is tied for 29th. Sophomore Lindsey Huff shot an 81, junior Courtney Harville shot 86 and sophomore Kelsey Spivey shot 87.
