Huntingdon women finish 6th in Division III National Preview
HOUSTON – The Huntingdon women's golf team shot 330 in the final round of the Division III National Preview on Tuesday.
The Lady Hawks finished sixth in the 13-team field with a two-round total of 667 at Bay Oaks Golf and Country Club. The University of Texas-Tyler won the tournament with a score of 616. New York University was second at 639.
Texas-Tyler's Laura Lindsey and Amy Cox each shot 149 for the tournament with Lindsey taking medalist honors in a scorecard playoff. Lindsey led the field on Tuesday with a 3-over-par 75.
Huntingdon freshman Hallie Rice finished seventh with a two-round 159 and junior Courtney Harville tied for 19th with a two-round 165. The pair each shot 81 to lead Huntingdon in the final round.
Junior LeeAnn Cahoon finished with a score of 170, followed by sophomore Kelsey Spivey with a 36-hole total of 173 and freshman Katelyn Gilmore at 178.
The Lady Hawks play in the Rhodes Invitational on Sunday and Monday.
