Cahoon ties for 3rd; Lady Hawks tie for 8th in Dan Quayle Classic

CLAYTON, Ind. – Senior LeeAnn Cahoon tied for third and the Huntingdon women's golf team tied for eighth in the Dan Quayle Collegiate Classic on Sunday.

Cahoon led the Lady Hawks with a 2-over-par 74 in the final round and a 6-over 150 for the tournament. Wittenberg's Jane Hopkinson-Wood was the tournament medalist with a 1-under 143 and Indiana Tech's Courtney Dye was second with a 3-over 147.

As a team, Huntingdon shot a 327 in Round 1 and a 329 in the final round to finish with a 656. Indiana Tech was first with a two-round 618 and Wittenberg was second at 619.

Behind Cahoon, sophomore Katelyn Gilmore shot 163, sophomore Hallie Rice shot 169, senior Courtney Harville shot 175 and freshman Madi DeWees shot 182.

Huntingdon returns to action on Sept. 25 as the Lady Hawks host the Montgomery Country Club Intercollegiate.
