Cahoon, Gilmore and Lady Hawks place 3rd in Joe Duncan Invitational

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Senior LeeAnn Cahoon and sophomore Katelyn Gilmore each shot a two-round 149 to tie for third and help the Huntingdon women's golf team place third in the Joe Duncan Rhodes Invitational.

The 19th-ranked Lady Hawks shot 308 in Monday's final round and finished the tournament with a two-round 622. The 308 is tied for the fourth lowest round in program history and the 622 is the fourth lowest two-round total for the Lady Hawks.

Washington University-St. Louis, the 17th-ranked team in Division III, won the six-team tournament with a two-round 608. Fourth-ranked Rhodes College was second at 610.

Cahoon and Gilmore finished four strokes out of first. Washington University-St. Louis' Samantha Haubenstock was the tournament medalist with a 145.

Gilmore's 149 is her best two-round collegiate total and is tied for third in Lady Hawks' history. Gilmore turned in her best single round on Sunday with a 1-over-par 73.

For Cahoon, the 149 is her second best two-round total. Cahoon set the Lady Hawks' two-round record with a 2-over 142 this past fall.

Following Gilmore's 73 in the opening round, Cahoon's 73 in the final round marked the 13th time a Lady Hawk has shot 73 or better. Cahoon has been responsible for 10 of those rounds.

Behind Cahoon and Gilmore, junior Kelsey Spivey was 18th with a two-round 160 and senior Courtney Harville was 24th at 165.

Freshman Hannah Tuttle tied for 25th at 166 and freshman Madi DeWees was 27th at 167.

The Lady Hawks return to action in the Washington University Women's Invitational on April 8.
