Huntingdon closes out Jekyll Island Invitational
JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's golf team shot 317 in the final round of the Jekyll Island Invitational on Sunday.
The 16th-ranked Lady Hawks finished 12th with a three-round total of 961. Fourth-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps shot 913 to win the 23-team tournament. Top-ranked New York University shot 918 to place second.
The tournament featured six top-10 teams and a total of 12 top-25 teams.
Junior Katelyn Gilmore led Huntingdon with a 3-over-par 75 in the final round and tied for 22nd with a 234. Freshman Olivia Hickson shot 78 in the final round and tied for 25th with a 235.
Junior Vanessa Leiterman finished with a three-round 240, sophomore Madi DeWees shot 257 and freshman Anna Beth Harris shot 259.
Whitman College's Phoebe Nguyen was the tournament medalist with a 2-under 214.
Coming Up: Huntingdon will host Hope College at the Montgomery Country Club on Wednesday.
