Leiterman and Burdeshaw lead Lady Hawks in Rd. 1 of Chick-fil-A Inv.

ROME, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's golf team shot 330 in the opening round of the Chick-fil-A Invitational on Monday.

Entering Tuesday's final round, the Lady Hawks are tied for fifth. Oglethorpe leads the 13-team field with a 21-over-par 309 and Birmingham-Southern is second with a 310.

Senior Vanessa Leiterman and freshman Debra Ann Burdeshaw led Huntingdon in the opening round. Leiterman shot a 6-over 78, is five strokes out of first and tied for ninth. Burdeshaw shot a 7-over 79, is six strokes off the lead and is 11th.

Oglethorpe's Angel Sanchez leads the field with a 1-over 73.

Behind Leiterman and Burdeshaw, senior Katelyn Gilmore shot an 85, sophomore Anna Beth Harris shot an 88 and junior Madi DeWees shot an 89.

 

Coming Up: Huntingdon will play in the final round of the Chick-fil-A Invitational on Tuesday.
