Lady Hawks complete Day 1 of Division III National Preview

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – The 20th-ranked Huntingdon women's golf team shot 698 in the first two rounds of the Division III National Preview on Saturday.

Entering Sunday's final round, the Lady Hawks are 12th in the field of 13 teams. Huntingdon is one of nine nationally ranked teams in the tournament.

Ninth-ranked Washington University-St. Louis shot 318 in the opening round and 300 in the second round and leads the field with a 42-over-par 618. Tenth-ranked Carnegie Mellon shot 318 in Round 1 and 307 in Round 2 and is second at 625.

Huntingdon shot 346 in the first round and 352 in the second round.

Birmingham-Southern's Sarah Posey and Washington University-St. Louis' Samantha Haubenstock are tied for first at 5-over 149 after 36 holes.

Sophomore Debra Ann Burdeshaw led Huntingdon with a 166 in the first two rounds and is tied for 29th. Behind Burdeshaw, junior Anna Beth Harris shot 173, senior Madi DeWees shot 178, freshman Emma Cox shot 181 and sophomore Abigail Cody shot 193.

 

Coming Up: Huntingdon will play in the final round of the Division III National Preview on Sunday.
