Huntingdon women’s lacrosse beats Millsaps in season opener

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team opened its second season with a 17-14 win over Millsaps on Sunday.

The Lady Hawks scored 12 goals in the first half and took a 12-3 lead into halftime. Huntingdon maintained a comfortable lead through most of the second half and led 17-9 in the final nine minutes before the Majors scored five late goals.

Jen Price led Huntingdon with five goals and Shannen O'Leary scored four goals and had five draw controls. Jamie Reschke finished with two goals and two assists, Candace Williams had two goals and seven ground balls and Lonnitria Keenan had two goals.

Briana Gress and Kalyn Spatol each scored one goal. Gress also had six draw controls and Tori Krupa had four ground balls.

Goalie Alexis McDonald recorded 13 saves.

Huntingdon travels to Reinhardt on Tuesday for a 3 p.m. game.
