Price’s goal lifts women’s lacrosse in double overtime

JACKSON, Miss. – Sophomore Jen Price scored on an assist from Lonnitria Keenan with nine seconds left in double overtime to give the Huntingdon women's lacrosse team a 16-15 win over Millsaps on Tuesday.

The win was the third straight for Huntingdon (6-5) and the second of the season against Millsaps. The Lady Hawks beat Millsaps 17-14 on Feb. 16.

Huntingdon built a 6-1 lead in the first eight minutes of the game before Millsaps rallied and cut the Lady Hawks' lead to 9-8 at halftime. Huntingdon never trailed in the second half but could not put the Majors away and entered overtime tied 14-14.

Price finished the game with four goals, seven ground balls, five caused turnovers and five draw controls. Jamie Reschke had four goals, Briana Gress had three goals and Sam Baker had two goals.

In addition to her assist, Keenan had one goal, five ground balls and two caused turnovers and Shannen O'Leary and Kalyn Spatol each scored one goal. O'Leary also had six ground balls and three caused turnovers and Spatol had nine draw controls and two caused turnovers. Tori Krupa had four ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Goalie Alexis McDonald finished with 19 saves for Huntingdon.

Huntingdon returns to action at home on Friday, hosting Agnes Scott at 3 p.m.
