Women’s lacrosse falls in 1st round of USA South Tournament

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse season came to an end with an 18-4 loss to Greensboro in the opening round of the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament on Sunday.

The second-year Lady Hawks (7-9) advanced to the tournament in their first season as a member of the conference. Greensboro (9-6) will face top-seeded Piedmont in the conference semifinals on Friday in Rocky Mount, N.C.

On Sunday, Jen Price and Lonnitria Keenan each scored two goals for Huntingdon. Keenan finished the season with 37 goals, one short of the program-record of 38 set by Jamie Reschke last season. Price ended the season with 34 goals.

Price and Kalyn Spatol each had four ground balls against Greensboro and Shannen O'Leary finished with seven draw controls, six ground balls and two caused turnovers. Tori Krupa and Sam Havel each had two caused turnovers. Krupa set a new Huntingdon record with 20 caused turnovers this season.

Goalie Alexis McDonald had 10 saves against Greensboro and finished the season with a program-record 180 saves. She closed out her two-year Huntingdon career with 344 saves and a .488 save percentage.
