Huntingdon falls behind late in first half in loss to Hendrix

CONWAY, Ark. – The Huntingdon women's lacrosse team scored two goals in the first two minutes and led for most of the first half on Monday. But Hendrix College pulled away late in the first half and won 19-11.

The Lady Hawks led 7-6 with 10:51 left in the first half before Hendrix scored nine straight goals. The Warriors led 11-7 at the half and 15-7 less than four minutes into the second half.

Lonnitria Keenan scored four goals for Huntingdon and Briana Gress and Candace Williams each scored two goals. Williams was 2-for-2 on free-position shots.

Jamie Reschke and Shannen O'Leary each had a goal and an assist. Alexa Murray scored one goal and Bree Brake had one assist. Jen Price had four draw controls, seven ground balls and five caused turnovers.

Goalie Victoria Krupa finished with 16 saves, 19 goals allowed and five ground balls.

Huntingdon (1-10) plays at Piedmont on Friday at 2:30 p.m.
