Hawks wrestle in Gator Boots Dual

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Huntingdon wrestling team competed in three matches on Saturday in the Gator Boots Dual.
The Hawks fell to Luther 41-4, lost to Loras 33-13 and finished the day with a 26-21 loss to Simpson.
Brandon Abejon went 3-0 on the day for the Hawks in the 149-pound weight class. The senior earned the only points against Luther, picking up a 16-8 major decision. In the second match for Huntingdon, he won a 12-9 decision against Loras and ended the evening with a pin against Simpson in 1:57.
Junior DeAndre Beck (141) went 2-1 for the day. The junior lost a 2-1 decision to the start the day, but finished with a 15-3 major decision and 3-2 decision.
Pierce Erhardt (165) also recorded a 2-1 record. The freshman was pinned his first match, but closed with a pair of pins.
The Hawks wrestle at Allen University on Jan. 4 at 3 p.m.
