FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – More than 130 Huntingdon College student-athletes were recognized with the release of the USA South Academic All-Conference team on Monday. A total of 139 Hawks, representing each of Huntingdon's 18 athletic programs, were among the 1,446 USA South student-athletes named to the team.

Women's basketball player Juliette Harp and men's lacrosse player Sam Hitt were honored as the Huntingdon Female Student-Athlete of the Year and Male Student-Athlete of the Year during Wednesday night's Awards Ceremony.

Division III Week Student Spotlight – DeAndre Beck

This week is NCAA Division III Week and member institutions across the country are celebrating the seventh-year event. Division III Week, which runs from Monday through Sunday, is intended to recognize the academic and athletic accomplishments as well as the campus leadership and community service efforts of Division III student-athletes. As part of Huntingdon College's participation in Division III Week, five student-athletes will be featured this week. Huntingdon senior DeAndre Beck is today's featured student-athlete.

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Huntingdon wrestling team turned in its best performance yet in the NCAA Division III Regional Tournament on Saturday and Sunday. Competing in the Lower Midwest Regional, formerly known as the Central Region, the fourth-year Hawks won 11 matches, scored 22 points and finished 13th in the field of 17 teams.

GREENSBORO, N.C.  – Seniors DeAndre Beck and Jesse Rowlen each won their weight classes and the Huntingdon wrestling team placed second in the Southeast Wrestling Conference Tournament on Saturday.

MONTGOMERY, Ala.  – The fourth-year Huntingdon wrestling team won its fourth straight dual match and its sixth dual match of the season with a 41-8 victory over Allen University on Saturday.

Fourth-year Hawks match season record with fifth team win

CLEVELAND, Ga.  – The Huntingdon wrestling team won two matches over NAIA opponents on Saturday at Truett-McConnell University. The Hawks took down West Virginia University Institute of Technology 28-21 and beat Truett-McConnell 45-8.  This was the first win in five meetings with Truett-McConnell. This was the first meeting with West Virginia University Tech.

Huntingdon earns third win of the season

COLUMBIA, S.C.  – The Huntingdon wrestling team won seven of the final eight weight classes and knocked off Allen University 30-12 on Saturday. The win was the fourth-year Hawks’ third straight over the NAIA Yellow Jackets.

MONTGOMERY, Ala.  – The Huntingdon wrestling team opened 2018 with three dual matches at Roland Arena on Saturday. The Hawks came up short against Division III Greensboro College 23-17 before falling to a pair of nationally ranked NAIA teams. Huntingdon lost to Reinhardt University 35-9 and Southeastern University 31-9. Reinhardt is ranked 16th in one NAIA poll and Southeastern is ranked in the top-9 in two NAIA polls.

CLARKSVILLE, Ark.  – Senior DeAndre Beck and sophomore Quintez Pearson each won two matches to lead Huntingdon in the NWA Duals at the University of Ozarks on Saturday. The Hawks lost to the University of Dubuque 24-19 and fell to Ozarks 29-15.

NASHVILLE, Tenn.  – Seniors DeAndre Beck and Jesse Rowlen were both undefeated on Saturday to lead the Huntingdon wrestling team in the Gator Boots Duals. Beck (141-pound weight class) and Rowlen (285) were each 3-0 and accounted for six of the Hawks’ eight wins. As a team, the Hawks fell to Luther College 34-11, lost to Simpson College 26-14 and Heidelberg University 35-11.

MOUNT VERNON, Ga.  – The Huntingdon wrestling team won its final three weight classes to edge Brewton-Parker 20-19 on Thursday.

SALEM, Va.  – The Huntingdon wrestling team won two weight divisions and won a total of 40 matches to place third in the Star City Open on Sunday. Elizabethtown College won the nine-team tournament with 115 points, followed by Stevens Institute of Technology in second with 113.5 points and Huntingdon in third with 106 points.

DANVILLE, Va.  – Senior Jesse Rowlen recorded a pin in the final match of the day to help Huntingdon get by Averett University 24-21 on Saturday night.

DECATUR, Ill.  – The Huntingdon wrestling team won 34 matches in the Millikin Open on Saturday. Six Hawks finished in the top-eight of their weight classes, eight Hawks won at least two matches and four Hawks won at least three matches.
