Beck and Rowlen lead Hawks in Gator Boots Duals

NASHVILLE, Tenn.  – Seniors DeAndre Beck and Jesse Rowlen were both undefeated on Saturday to lead the Huntingdon wrestling team in the Gator Boots Duals.

Beck (141-pound weight class) and Rowlen (285) were each 3-0 and accounted for six of the Hawks' eight wins. As a team, the Hawks fell to Luther College 34-11, lost to Simpson College 26-14 and Heidelberg University 35-11. 

Against Luther, Beck won by technical fall (22-7) and Rowlen won by pin (4:21).In the Simpson match, Beck won 9-6 and Rowlen won by technical fall (17-1). Kaleb Fontenot (157 pounds) picked up a win by forfeit. 

Against Heidelberg, in the Hawks' final match of the day, Beck won 7-4 and Rowlen won by technical fall (17-0). Deon Maxwell won 8-1 in the 165-pound weight class.
