MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Kira Jo Bohlke and Clara Tapplin each found the net in the first half of a 2-0 win over Judson and the defense did its job to lead the Huntingdon women's soccer team to its first win of the season on Tuesday.

Bohlke and Tapplin, both freshmen, picked up their first college goals to record the first and second goals of the Lady Hawks' season.

Bohlke took the ball unassisted straight down the middle on a break and found the net in the 15th minute to give Huntingdon a 1-0 lead before Tapplin scored the game's final goal in the 27th minute.

The Lady Hawks (1-1) took 12 shots to the Eagles' five. Josie Byard played all 90 minutes in goal and picked up two saves, while subs Carlie Reed, Jaime Vincent and Christian Boldin pitched in with a combined six shots off the bench.

Kacey Chance took three shots for the Eagles with two shots on goal, while Kelly Stephens and Mary Milliron each recorded a shot.

The Lady Hawks return to action at 4 p.m. on Sept. 18 at Toccoa Falls.
