Lady Hawks fall to unbeaten Piedmont

DEMOREST, Ga. – The Huntingdon women's soccer team gave up three goals in the first half and fell to unbeaten Piedmont College 3-1 on Saturday.

Piedmont (11-0, 6-0 USA South), which ranks first in the USA South Athletic Conference, scored in the 10th minute to take a 1-0 lead.

Freshman Camryn Carter scored off an assist from Madi Critcher to tie the game 1-1 in the 27th minute for the Lady Hawks. It was just the second goal allowed by Piedmont this season.

Carter finsihed with three shots, three shots on goal and one goal. 

Piedmont answered back and put the game away, with two goals in the 35th and 38th minutes.

Freshman goalkeeper Leah Leach finished with seven saves and three goals allowed for Huntingdon (3-6, 1-4 USA South).

Huntingdon finished with five shots and four shots on goal. In addition to Carter, Clara Tapplin had one shot (one shot on goal) and Alex Ellison recorded one shot.

The Lady Hawks will host Averett University in a USA South matchup on October 10 at Samford Stadium.
